In June 2017, I was one of a small group of women invited to present on my practice in an event called ‘Taking Space: Women in Electronic Music’ at Durham University. Organised by Shelly Knotts and Patricia Alessandrini the event was connected to a forthcoming issue of ICMC’s Array Journal. The event provided insight into the current themes and political motivations of women practicing and working in sound and music, particularly in the North of England. Each invited speaker presented their practice and afterwards there was a round-table discussion centered on a feminist vision of music technology.
