Show Pony Girl is about personal grooming, nail bars and ponies.

This solo performance piece draws on material gathered from the artist’s immersion into the horse-riding communities and nail bar culture of the North East.

Currently in early stages of development, it aims to tell the story of ‘the grooming’ of the artist into both professions. By combining autobiography with anecdotes from her site-specific fieldwork Rebecca aims to explore what it might mean to be human, or even a horse against the backdrop of contemporary society.

Show Pony Girl will be at ‘First in Three’ at Northern Stage on 22nd October 2015 and scratched at ARC Stockton on 18th November 2015.
