I have been a guest lecturer for the Masters in Performing Arts and Visual Culture at the University of Alcala De Henares, Madrid which is run in conjunction with the Reina Sofia Contemporary Art Museum. In previous years I have run a two day practice-based research session with Alison Matthews entitled ‘Of Booths, Exchanges and Relational Acoustics’. The session focuses on how creative practice can be developed from everyday observations of ‘Micro-situations’ with specific attention to voice (an element in my own research) or transaction (Alison’s research). The practical work is developed against a theoretical background of relational aesthetics (Bourriaud, Bishop, Kester). Diverse methodologies such as group discussion, micro-performances, one-to-one mentoring and show & tell are used throughout.

I have also run a session on performance analysis for Masters students in performance studies at Aberystwyth University and more recently ‘Of Booths, Exchanges and Relational Acoustics’ was delivered to students on the MA in Performance and Politics.
