Dusting off the calendar

This week I have been dusting off the calendar and getting stuck back in after the Christmas break. I have some exciting plans for this year, starting with AVASE - A Voice

IMG_2012and Something Else on 24th and 26th January 2014. It’s a practice based research conference bringing academics, scholar artists and interested professionals together to share thoughts and ideas related to the voice in performance.

In February, I will be part of a micro-festival taking place at Aberystwyth Arts centre with Five Minutes of Fame, looking forward to bringing the karaoke boom box out of the closet and discovering how it might fit in in Mid West Wales.

At Easter I will be packing my crumbling thermos, fifties bathing suit and heading for the sunnier climes of Llanbedrog. There I will be developing my project, Re-Imagining Llanbedrog in conjunction with National Theatre Wales. After the artists development residency I undertook with them and Dutch-based company PeerGroup my thoughts on how to approach site specific work have shifted considerably. I’m hoping to put some of the strategies I learnt during that time back into practice.

I’m also hoping to develop my work in progress Vocal Spiel news on dates for that coming soon!
