Stolen Voices: Aberdeen Documentation 2017

Aberdeen-Stone-Circle
Eavesdropping on Neolithic Architecture at the East Aquorthies, Aberdeenshire

Stolen Voices Aberdeen took place from February to June, 2017. Stolen Voices is an ongoing project which focuses on the UK coast. This version of the project formed part of Silver City Stories, an initiative by Aberdeen City Council, Visit Aberdeenshire and the University of Aberdeen to celebrate the history, heritage and stories of local residents.

On 30 June 2017, Rebecca Collins and Johanna Linsley alongside a group of local agents with their ears on the ground, offered the results of their investigation into the acoustic textures of the city.

Above you can listen to excerpts from the show, including the first episode which gives a solid background to the investigation, a stereo version of Pete Stollery’s 8-channel composition, and a set by The Kitchen Cynics.
